How I handle your data.
Last updated: October 2026
This is my personal website, made so recruiters can get to know me. It collects as little as possible. I use what it collects to answer your questions and messages, to see which companies opened my CV and what recruiters ask, and to keep the site safe.
Who is responsible
This site is run by me, Jesse Reinhard, a private individual based in Milan (Italy) and Zürich (Switzerland). I am responsible for your data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
For any privacy question or request, write to me through the contact form. I haven't appointed a data protection officer, because the law doesn't require one for a site like this.
When you visit
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., a US company. The site's server functions run in Frankfurt, Germany. When you open a page, Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page you request and the time. I can see these logs for 1 hour, after which they are no longer available to me. Vercel keeps its own security records as described in its privacy notice.
There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixels. Fonts are served from this site itself, so your browser makes no requests to Google. Search engines are told not to index the site.
Ask Jesse and Check a role
Ask Jesse and Check a role are AI tools, not me. When you use them, your text and the earlier messages of the conversation are sent to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model and writes the answer. My contract is with Anthropic Ireland, Limited (Dublin, Ireland), and Anthropic, PBC processes the text in the USA.
Anthropic's commercial terms don't allow it to train its models on this text. Anthropic deletes it within 30 days, or keeps it for up to 2 years if it is flagged for breaking Anthropic's usage policy.
The answers are generated automatically from information I wrote. They can contain mistakes, and they are not statements, offers or commitments by me. Please check anything important with me directly.
In plain words, the risks are that an answer can be wrong, and that what you type leaves this site and is processed by Anthropic in the USA. If you'd rather not use AI, write to me through the contact form instead. You can also object at any time, as explained below.
To see what recruiters ask, the first 200 characters of your latest chat question are written to the server log, where I can see them for 1 hour. If I keep a question in my notes, I keep it without any IP address and delete it within 6 months. Job descriptions you paste are not logged.
Please don't paste anything confidential, and don't include personal details about other people. The site and its AI tools are meant for recruiters and other professional visitors, not for children.
The contact form
When you send me a message, I receive your name, company, email address, the kind of role you're interested in and your message. If you came through a personal link, I also see which one.
Name, email and message are needed so I can reply. Company and type of role are optional. You don't have to write to me, but without these details I can't answer you.
Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., San Francisco, USA) delivers your message to my personal email inbox and keeps a copy and delivery logs for 30 days. If email delivery is not working, your message is written to the server log instead, where I can see it for 1 hour.
I use your details only to reply to you and to discuss possible roles. I delete our messages at the latest 12 months after our last exchange, unless we agree to stay in touch.
Personal links
Some companies get a personal link from me that unlocks my CV. When the CV is downloaded through one of these links, the site notes which company's link was used and when, but not your name. I can see this in the server log for 1 hour. If I note it for my job search, I delete the note at the latest 12 months later.
Preventing abuse
To protect the chat and the contact form from spam and abuse, the site counts how many requests come from each visitor. The counters use a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself. They are stored with Upstash, Inc. (USA) in its Frankfurt (Germany) data centre, are deleted after 24 hours at most, and are used for nothing else.

Who else handles your data
These services help me run the site:
- Vercel Inc.USA (server functions in Frankfurt, Germany)
- Hosts the site and keeps the server logs.
- AnthropicIreland and USA
- Writes the answers in Ask Jesse and Check a role. My contract is with Anthropic Ireland, Limited, and Anthropic, PBC processes the text in the USA.
- Upstash, Inc.USA (data stored in Frankfurt, Germany)
- Stores the short-lived counters that prevent abuse.
- ResendPlus Five Five, Inc., USA
- Delivers contact form messages to my personal email inbox.
I don't sell your data. I share it only with the providers listed here, which process it for me, or with authorities where the law requires it.
These providers are US companies or part of a US group, so your data is processed in the USA. The EU and Switzerland recognise the USA as offering adequate protection for companies certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Vercel and Upstash are certified under both. Resend is certified under the EU-U.S. framework and uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, adapted for Switzerland, for data from Switzerland. Anthropic uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, adapted for Switzerland. You can check the certifications on the Data Privacy Framework list and ask me for a copy of the clauses.
Legal basis
Both the GDPR and the Swiss FADP apply to this site. Under the GDPR, I rely on my legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR):
- answering recruiters as part of my job search,
- knowing which companies opened my CV and what recruiters ask,
- keeping the site secure and free of spam and abuse.
I don't rely on your consent. I don't make decisions about you by automated means, including profiling. The fit check compares my profile with a job description and does not assess you. You can ask me how I balanced these interests against yours.
Your rights
You can ask me for access to your data, and to correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or receive a copy in a portable format. Requests are free, and I reply within one month. To make a request, write to me through the contact form.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work: in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Your right to object
You can object at any time to my use of your data based on legitimate interests, for reasons relating to your situation. This includes sending your text to Anthropic for the AI tools. I will then stop, unless I have compelling legitimate grounds or need the data for legal claims. To object, write to me through the contact form.
Changes
If the site starts handling data differently, I'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects people who have already written to me, I'll tell them by email.
